HAVANA, Cuba (CMC)— The Cuban Ministry of Public Health says 20 people have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the number of cases across the Spanish-speaking Caribbean island, to 1,389.

According to the ministry of those who have tested positive, 806 remain as active cases, and of them, 794 are now stable.

To date, there have been 56 deaths in the country and over 500 have been medically discharged.

Of the new cases, they were all Cubans and 19 of them were contacts of confirmed cases, however, the source of infection for the other person, was not specified by the ministry.

The health ministry stated that the most affected age groups were under 40 years old with 10 cases, followed by the 40 to 60 years old group with nine.

Sixty-five per cent of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
