For many, the first experience in the kitchen is with mom! You've learnt all the secret family recipes and have continued the family's kitchen traditions, but sometimes it's good to learn new recipes! As we Celebrate Mother's Day this Sunday, Grace Kitchens has partnered with their ambassador and Olympic athlete Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (SFP).

In this edition, SFP makes her way around the kitchen with the help of her husband Jigga and son Zyon. Together they share some of their family favourites, made with love!

What's better than fried rice? Grace Vienna Sausages & Chicken Frankfurters Fried Rice! “One of Zyon's favourite meals,” says SFP. This delicious one-pot meal is easy to make and doesn't take too long to be ready. Just combine your pre-cooked Grace Jasmine Rice, add your spices and don't forget your key ingredients: Grace Vienna Sausages & Chicken Frankfurters. Within 10 minutes you'll be serving up a pot full of goodness to your family.

If you're vegetarian, then this bean stew is perfect for you! Introduce this meatless meal to the family; or, if you're already a bean lover, it might become one of your favourites. Jigga's Bean Stew is cooked quite often in the Pryce home and is a magical combination of Grace Butter Beans, Grace Black Beans and your favourite vegetables. Simmer in some Grace Coconut Milk and add your spinners (flour dumplings) and you're good to go! Serve with Grace Jasmine Rice and this hearty meal will leave you wanting more.

We all have that one recipe passed down from our mother. For Shelly-Ann, that recipe is the traditional Turkey Neck with Grace Broad Beans — “Ghetto Style Oxtails”, as many may know it. This dish is a staple in many Jamaican households and once you've had it you can see why! This scrumptious dish is made with lots of sweet and spice including Grace Tomato Ketchup and Jamaican Scotch bonnet pepper. Served with Grace Jasmine Rice and lots of love! Perfect to make for mama on Mother's Day or for mom to make you! Either way, we invite you to celebrate Mother's Day with good food & Grace!

Turkey Neck with Grace Broad Beans

Serves 4

Ingredients:

2 lbs turkey necks

1 can Grace Broad Beans

1 cup Grace Tomato Ketchup

Grace White Vinegar (to rinse meat)

Grace All Purpose Seasoning

Grace Browning

4 tbsps Grace Vegetable Oil

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1 tbsp grounded pimento

1 tsp salt

1 Scotch bonnet pepper

2 stalks scallion, chopped

1 sprig thyme

medium sweet pepper, julienne

medium onion, chopped

1 whole tomato, chopped

Method:

Rinse meat with vinegar.

Season meat (add garlic, scallion, ground pimento, Grace All Purpose Seasoning, salt, Scotch bonnet, thyme, sweet pepper, tomato and Grace Browning).

Massage meat with seasoning to ensure even distribution.

Heat oil in pressure cooker and add seasoned turkey necks.

Add 8 cups of water and cover pot allowing for 45 minutes cooking time.

Complete dish by adding Grace Butter Beans, Grace Tomato Ketchup and sweet pepper.

Serve with Grace Jasmine Rice.

Jigga's Three-Bean Stew

Serves 4

Ingredients:

1 can Grace Coconut Milk

2 tbsp Grace Vegetable Oil

1 can Grace Butter Bean

1 can Grace Black Beans

1 can Grace Mixed Vegetables

Chopped carrots

Chopped Irish potatoes

Chopped pumpkin

Okra

3 cloves garlic, peeled & chopped

1 yellow onion chopped

Spinners

Method:

Place chopped onion, carrots, potatoes, scallion, okra, thyme, pumpkin and garlic in a large pot.

Add water, Grace Vegetable Oil and salt and allow to boil.

Pour in the Grace Coconut Milk, and add spinners made from flour. Allow to simmer for about 10 minutes.

Drain cans of Grace Mixed Vegetables, Grace Butter Beans and Grace Black Beans and add to pot.

Cover and cook for an additional 15 minutes.

Serve with Grace Jasmine Rice.

Zyon's Grace Vienna Sausages & Chicken Frankfurters Fried Rice

Serves 4

Ingredients:

6 Grace Chicken Frankfurters

2 cans of Grace Vienna Sausages

2 tbsps Grace Vegetable Oil

Grace Mixed Vegetables

Grace Jasmine Rice (pre-cooked)

2 eggs

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 large onion

1 sweet pepper

1 scallion

Method:

Heat frying pan with oil and add finely chopped Grace Chicken Frankfurters, Grace Chicken Vienna Sausages, garlic and onion.

Stirring constantly, add cracked eggs.

Pour in pre-cooked Grace Jasmine Rice and soy sauce.

Continue to stir to combine all ingredients.

Add chopped scallion and sweet pepper.

Add salt to taste.
